The Maker

Forty years of knowing exactly what a wood fire should be.

Dik Geurts began building stoves in the Netherlands more than four decades ago, and has been part of the DRU group (one of Europe's oldest fire makers), since 2007. The stoves are still designed the Dutch way, clean lines, honest steel, and engineering that stays out of sight so the flame can stay in it.

At Croft & Flame, we have selected the Dik Geurts models best suited to your home, from a compact 5kW log burner for a terrace to three sided and suspended fires that hold an open plan barn conversion together. Every stove in this collection earned its place.

  • i. One lever. Full control.

    Every Dik Geurts stove is regulated by a single air slider. No juggling primary, secondary and tertiary controls, one hand, one movement, and the fire answers. It lights easily, burns steadily, and you don't need to be a wood burning expert to get it right the first evening.

  • ii. Clean combustion, by design.

    The entire range meets Ecodesign requirements and performs well below the fine particulate emission limits. The models we install are DEFRA approved for Smoke Control Areas. Higher firebox temperatures mean more complete combustion, even residual soot particles are burned, so you use less wood and put less into the air.

  • iii. The flame is the point.

    Large glass, slim frames, and a carefully engineered airwash that keeps the window clear night after night. Whether it's the tall portrait glass of a Modivar or the three-sided view of a Vidar, the stove is designed around what you'll actually spend your evenings looking at.

  • iv. Heat that doesn't ask permission.

    A wood stove is independence, warmth that doesn't rely on the grid, the pipeline, or the tariff. Fuelled with dry, local hardwood, a Dik Geurts stove heats the room you live in for the price of the logs in the store beneath it. On a winter evening, that matters.

Getting the output right

An average living room needs only 3 to 5 kW. Choose too large and the stove runs starved, low temperatures, poor combustion, blackened glass. Choose right and it burns clean, bright and efficiently every evening.
