Most fireplaces are chosen from a catalogue and fitted to a space. Ours begin differently. We start with you and how you live then work from a precise three-dimensional record of the room, its proportions, its sightlines, its existing character and design from there.
Whether your home is a stone-built Lakeland cottage or a contemporary open-plan extension, the result is a fire that could only ever have been made for that particular room. That is the kind of work we do.

Every bespoke project follows the same sequence at each stage, unhurried throughout. Here is what to expect, from the first conversation to the morning you light the fire for the first time.
The Conversation
We begin by understanding how you live and what you would like from your fire, the evenings you have in mind, the room it will anchor, the design language of your home. No questionnaire. A conversation.
The Room Scan
Using LiDAR 3D scanning technology, we capture the room to precision, every dimension, every reveal, every sightline. The survey takes around an hour.
The Render
From the scan data, we produce 3D renders showing your fire in your room, in your finishes, at the proportions we've designed for the space. You see it before a single piece is made.
The Drawings
Fabrication-ready working drawings, issued to our makers. Every dimension confirmed. Every material specified. Project specifications and compliance obligations, built into the drawings from the outset.
The Build
Installation by registered engineers. Every step certified. The fire lit, checked, and handed over — with a full commissioning certificate and a brief on how to live well with it.

LiDAR, the same laser-scanning technology used in architectural surveys and heritage recording, lets us capture your room as a dense, accurate three-dimensional point cloud. From that data, everything flows with confidence.

Fully dimensioned drawings issued to stone masons, steel fabricators, and joiners, eliminating the back-and-forth that delays most bespoke projects.
Hearth and clearances built in
Approved Document J clearances, hearth dimensions, and flue positions are specified within the drawings, not added as an afterthought at installation.

Deep oak lintels, reclaimed brick, exposed stone reveals. Restoration work as much as installation, returning rooms to the warmth they were built around.
Nordic Form & Freestanding Steel
The stove as sculpture. Soapstone and brushed steel, positioned away from the wall, designed to be walked around and lived with, not just looked at.
New Build & Self-Build Collaboration
We work alongside architects and interior designers from the earliest stages, so the fire is drawn into the plans, not retrofitted to them. A collaboration, not a trade account.
Why the process
matters.
Bespoke design costs more than choosing from a range. These are the reasons it is worth the difference, not as a sales argument, but as an honest account of what the process gives you.
No surprises on the day
When the room has been scanned and the design has been drawn to fabrication tolerances, the installation usually proceeds as planned. Unless there are no site day discoveries, then there is no recuttings, no returns.
You see it first
The 3D render places your fire in your room before a single piece is ordered. You approve the proportions, the finishes, and the detail and you do so with confidence, not imagination.
Proportions designed for the room
A fire chosen from a brochure is chosen for a notional room. A fire designed from a scan is sized, scaled, and positioned for the actual space the ceiling height, the chimney breast, the distance from the nearest wall.
Compliance built in from the start
Hearth dimensions, combustible clearances, and flue positions are designed into the drawings from the outset not resolved at the end. HETAS and Gas Safe registration covers the installation. Nothing is left to chance.
A single point of contact
From the initial consultation to the commissioning certificate, one team holds the project. We coordinate with your builder, your architect, and your stone supplier so you do not have to.
Made to last, not to move
A bespoke fireplace is not a product. It is a fixture. Designed for this room, in this house, with these materials it will look as considered in twenty years as it does the morning we hand over the keys.
